Apple Bread Recipes; Applesauce bread recipe or Apple Butter Bread Recipe

Apple bread recipes are usually quick bread recipes which are leavened with baking powder or baking soda. The apples that are added to these breads give them flavor and added moisture. Many of us add apples or applesauce to our sweet bread recipe and cut back on some of the sugar.

Some varieties of apples are said to be suitable for eating, some for cooking and still others for eating and cooking. I have added apples to a variety of bread recipes for years and have never been disappointed. If you are using a more firm apple which is only recommended for eating just chop it up very fine; it still gives the bread a moist, sweet and delicious flavor.

Apples are one of the easiest fruits to keep fresh in your kitchen for cooking. The fall and winter applies will last the longest in storage. If you are picking your own, try to get them with the stems still on. Check all of them to make sure there is no bruised or broken skins before putting them in storage. Keep them in a cool dry storage; wrapped individually will keep them longer. When the cold weather sets in, you will enjoy fresh warm loaves made from your apple bread recipes.
