Christmas Party

by Anne
(Ohio)

My late husband owned a well known grocery store in Washington Township in Ohio called Phil and Jerry's Foodarama.
Every Christmas season we would have a open house.
I served homemade meatballs, honeybaked ham, about 4 different cheese dips. Everyone loved my Dad's sauteed chicken livers and mushroom Spanish Dip served in a rye round bread. My dad would bake his coalminers cake for dessert.
Our party started small of about 50 people and at the end of Phil's life we were up to around 150 people throughout the day. I ended up having to hire a bartender and a young lady to help serve and clean up. But we both enjoyed having everyone to the house.
