Having the appropriate cooking utensil makes your kitchen much more efficient and economical.

The following list of cooking utensil is a guide to a well-equiped kitchen. You may want to revise the list to your own needs. As you cook, you will run across other equipment, which you will think will be useful to you and want to add to your kitchen. Some equipment may double for different jobs. If you purchase good quality products, it will last a long time and be worth the additional expense. Buy a few at a time, as you need for doing your recipes.


Cooking Utensil: Small Utensil

1. Rolling Pin - I always keep two on hand in case one breaks

2. Flour Sifter- I keep several on hand. I have had them to break, but also you may want to sift different ingredients at the same time - such as flour, confectionery sugar and cocoa

3. Rubber Scraper- variuous sizes

4. Brushes - Patry, Vegetable and new paint brushes. Various sizes of these come in handy.

5. Rotary Hand Beater

6. Set of Sharp knives and sharpener

7. Can Opener

8. Bottle Opener and Corkscrew

Cooking Utensil: Storage and Miscellaneous

33. Electric mixer - I prefer to have a large mixer or stand, plus a small hand mixer. If you have only one mixer the hand mixer is most convenient.

34. Pastry Board - You could use countertop to roll out dough

35. Slotted and Wire Spoons

36. Cheesecloth

37. Aluminum Foil/Wax Paper/Plastic Wrap/Various Sizes of Freezer Bags

38. Cans or Glass Jars to store flour, sugar etc.

39. Storage Bowls with lids for refrigerator or cabinets

40. String - for wrapping meats and food

41. Chopping Boards (I like a couple of different sizes)

42. Kitchen Clock and Minute Reminder


Cooking Untensil: Measuring

43. Glass measuring cup for liquids - 1 to 2 cup size (I prefer the 2 cup size and also the 2 quart size)

44. Set of dry measuring cups-1/2, 1/3, 1/4,and 1 cup size

45. Set of measuring spoons - 1 tablespoon, 1 teaspoon, 1/2 teaspoon, 1/4 teaspoon

46. Set of bowls- various sizes

There are so many sizes and shapes of baking pans available. The following is a list of some but you do not need all of them.

One Oblong is sufficient:

Round you will need 2 to 3 same size:
