How to Make Pasta Recipes

When you learn how to make pasta recipes, you will find they are some of the easiest dishes to make. I am going to share a few of my favorites on this page.


Pasta is one of the most versatile ingredients, coming in such a wide range of sizes and shapes. Easy pasta dishes can be made with only pasta, butter and herbs or they can be made with beef, pork, lamb or various types of seafood. Whatever you are serving up with pasta, it is almost a guarantee of a delicious meal as well as an economical meal. 


When you learn how to make pasta recipes, many will include a wide variety of pasta salad recipes using all types of pasta and ingredients. Any type of cooked and cold pasta can be added to oil & vinegar, mayonnaise, chopped onions, celery, garlic, olives, chopped or grated cheese, frozen peas or other veggies, all kinds of spice, cold chopped ham or turkey; the list goes on and on.


When I learned how to make pasta recipes, I came across many delicious casserole dishes. Again, I found that I could add all kinds of other ingredients to pasta and bake these together to make casseroles. These ingredients could be all kinds of different meats, vegetables, cheese, different kinds of pastas and even occasionally fruit like apples.


I am sure you are already familiar before learning how to make pasta recipes, of the wonderful more common pasta dishes.  These might include spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna, ravioli or macaroni and cheese. No matter how simple or complex a recipe is, it will always be a hit when serving.    

HOW TO MAKE PASTA RECIPES

  • 1 Pound pasta cooked (any kind)
  • 1/2 Cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/2 Cup finely chopped celery
  • 3 Hard cooked eggs chopped
  • 1 Small jar pimientos drained
  • Mayonnaise to moisten
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Drain pasta; add onion, celery, pimientos and eggs.
Add mayonnaise and mix well; salt and pepper to taste.
Serve warm or cold.
NOTE: After refrigeration you may need to add a little more mayonnaise; it absorbs in the pasta after setting.


FETTUCCINE ALFREDO RECIPE

  • 8 ounces fettuccine (cooked and drained)
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, cubed
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup milk

In a large saucepan, combine cream cheese, Parmesan cheese, butter and milk. Stir over low heat until smooth. Add fettuccine and toss lightly. Serve immediately.


PASTA SALAD RECIPE

  • 1 pound spiral pasta (cook, drain, and cool)
  • Add to cooled pasta:
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 package frozen baby peas (thawed)
  • 1/2 cup chopped ham
  • 1/2 cup chopped Swiss cheese

Blend together:

  • 1 cup mayonaise
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 Tablespoon dill
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Cut 6 cups Romaine lettuce in a large bowl. Add cooled pasta and the ham and cheese mixture.. Pour dressing mixture over all and blend well. Refrigerate. The flavor blends more if it sets awhile in the refrigerator.


FETTUCCINE RECIPE with fresh tomato sauce

Learn how to make pasta recipes which include tomatoes in one form or another; they just simply go together.

  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 large tomatoes (peeled and chopped)
  • 1 clove fresh garlic (crushed)
  • 1 bunch of fresh basil (trimmed & chopped)
  • Salt & pepper
  • 6 ounces Brie cheese (rimmed & cubed)
  • 1 pound fettuccine

Heat olive oil and quickly saute' tomatoes, garlic, basil, salt & pepper. Add Brie and cook until mixture is creamy, stirring constantly. Cook fettuccine according to the package directions and drain. Pour sauce over fettuccine and serve immediately.

This is one of the very easy pasta dishes. This baked macaroni recipe is not only economical but delicious.

  • 6 ounces macaroni
  • 1 cup soft bread crumbs
  • 2 beaten eggs
  • 2 cups canned tomatoes
  • 1 cup Gruyere cheese, grated
  • 1 teaspoon minced onion
  • 1/4 cup melted butter

Cook macaroni. Drain and add remaining ingredients. Season to taste. Bake in a greased 2 quart casserole dish for 45 minutes at 325 degrees.

PASTA AND BROCCOLI RECIPE

Most pasta recipes go well with added vegetables; this pasta and broccoli recipe is perfect.

  • 16 ounces pasta
  • 1 quart half and half
  • 4 ounces butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 ounces spaghetti sauce
  • 4 ounces fresh broccoli, chopped
  • 4 ounces mushrooms, sliced
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese

Cool noodles until partially done. Drain off water. Put pasta back into the pot. Add half and half, butter, garlic, tomato sauce, and cut broccoli. Bring to a boil. When pasta is tender, add mushrooms. Remove from heat, add salt and pepper. Add cheese and serve.


SPAGHETTI SALAD RECIPE

Most pasta recipes call for using spaghetti. It is versatile in entrée with sauces and in salads like this spaghetti salad recipe.

  • 1 pound spaghetti (cooked & drained)
  • 3/4 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 3/4 Tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 Teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 Teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoon mayonaise
  • 1 Tablespoon parsley
  • 1/3 cup diced green pepper
  • 1/3 cup diced pimento
  • 2/3 cup diced ham
  • Parmesan cheese

Mix together olive oil, vinegar, soy sauce, garlic powder, mayonaise, and parsley. Pour over cooked spaghetti. Add green pepper, pimento, and diced ham. Stir well and sprinkle with cheese. Refrigerate until serving.


MACARONI AND CHEESE RECIPE

This is another of the economical and easy pasta recipes. This macaroni and cheese recipe is a baked macaroni recipe and has several ingredients to add a very flavorful taste.

  • 8 ounces penne pasta
  • 1 Teaspoon butter
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 Teaspoon salt
  • 1 Teaspoon dry mustard
  • 3 Cups grated gruyere cheese
  • 1 Cup milk
  • 1 Tablespoon hot water
  • 1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
  • Paprika
  • 1 Tablespoon butter

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook penne pasta in 2 quarts boiling water until tender. Drain. Stir in 1 Teaspoon butter and beaten egg. Mix mustard and salt with hot water and add to milk. Add 2 1/2 cups of cheese to the hot penne pasta. Pour into a buttered 1 1/2 quart baking dish. Stir in milk mixture and sprinkle with remaining cheese, dry bread crumbs, and paprika. Dot with butter. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes or until top is crusty.
