SBI and Me

The path that led to where I am now is not a straight one. My husband had been involved in real estate for years which is why my daughter and I were so involved in various areas of real estate. We were always looking for something else to make a living.

Real estate is very time consuming and stressful. You are always tied down. We looked at other businesses and franchises but the return on your investment and the time that was involved was not worth it. We wanted something that didn’t require employees and a lot of paperwork; something that was more mobile that we would be able to travel and do. Our conclusion came to doing a business on the internet!

The questions were how do you do a website and what do you do your website about? At first I hired a webmaster. He built a beautiful website with flashing pictures and everything, but I never had any response from that site. Fortunately, fate intervened and two things happened simultaneously. I was reading Chris Anderson’s THE LONG TAIL and I read about Site Build It! I am one who does not believe in accidents. It really made me think about a lot of things.

I had a background in running a business. When my daughter and I decided to do something other than real estate, we decided to start backwards. We talked about how we wanted to live and then we picked a profession that fit into our lifestyle. We wanted FREEDOM most of all; doing something we love with flexibility. Starting a business online fit but we didn’t know how to go about it. After our first attempt was a complete flop, what do we do now.

We decided to try Site Build It. It was extremely cheap compared to what we had just paid a webmaster. SBI seemed to make more sense. It wasn’t a “get rich quick”, it required hard work. It wasn’t just a website it was a business that made sense. It took us a few months before we purchased it. Like I said real estate really kept us busy.

One of the first things we really liked about SBI was a step by step guide to follow. This guide includes everything you need to build an online business. You need no technical skills to do a website, if you have half a brain. SBI offers technical guidance as well as instructions on how to write pages for the internet which is really, really important. This is a completely different way of writing which caused a lot of arguments between my daughter and me. “Keywords” are really controversial!

I still can’t believe how my site continues to grow. All along the way you have encouragement from fellow SBIers. The people who use SBI are the friendliest and most helpful people on the net. They have reviewed my site, sales pages and products and always give honest, brutal criticism but always constructive. They want you to succeed as much as they have. Incredible!

SBI is giving my daughter and I the financial freedom we had been looking for while doing something we are passionate about.
