Sometimes we would like to know how to make drinks. This is not necessarily alcoholic drinks but maybe just any kind of drinks. Especially in the hot summer we would like something special instead of the normal cold water or ice tea. Many drinks serve as a refreshing dessert or as a between meal snack. Whatever the occasion, adding bananas add to flavor and help serve as a delicious filler in the drink.

  • 1 Cup whole milk
  • ½ Cup peeled and diced ripe mango
  • ½ Cup peeled and sliced ripe bananas
  • ½ Cup peeled and diced ripe peach
  • ½ Cup crushed ice

Place all ingredients in the blender and process for a few seconds or until smooth; serve in frosted glasses.

BANANA SMOOTHIE RECIPE

  • 1 ½ Cups whole milk
  • 2 Tablespoons honey
  • 2 Peeled and sliced ripe bananas

  • 2 Cups chocolate ice cream
  • 2 Peeled and sliced bananas
  • ½ Cup milk
  • ¼ Cup chocolate syrup
  • Ice cubes

This recipe is a version of fruit punch that is great for a party or reception.

  • 2 Cups sugar
  • 3 Cups water
  • 3 Ripe mashed bananas
  • 3 Cups pineapple juice
  • 1 ½ Cups orange juice
  • 2 Tablespoons lemon juice
  • 4 Cups (1 liter bottle) carbonated lemon lime cold beverage

Bring sugar and water to boil in a large saucepan; boil 5 minutes and cool.

In a large freezer container combine bananas, juices and sugar mixture; mix well and freeze.

Two hours before serving remove from freezer and let stand at room temperature. Just before serving stir in cold lemon lime beverage and serve immediately. Makes twenty ½ cup servings.


RUM DRINK RECIPE

  • 4 Broken ice cubes
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 2 Teaspoons powder sugar
  • 5 Tablespoons white rum
  • 1 Ripe medium size banana in chunks

BANANA EGGNOG RECIPE

Eggnog recipes are usually reserved for special occasions. This beverage is a symbol of friendship and well wishes. This is why around the holidays many people celebrate with plenty of eggnog.

  • ½ Cup sugar
  • 1/8 Teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 small ripe bananas
  • 3 Eggs, separated
  • 2 Cups cold milk
  • 1 Cup cold cream
  • 1 Teaspoon vanilla

Combine sugar and nutmeg.

Beat egg whites on high speed until soft peaks form; gradually beat in ½ sugar mixture.

In a small bowl beat egg yolks until lemon yellow; gradually beat in remaining sugar mixture and bananas until smooth.

Fold yolk mixture into egg white mixture; stir in milk and cream and blend well.

Serve in chilled glasses.

NOTE: For variations replace milk and cream with whole chocolate milk. For garnish top with grated chocolate.


FROZEN BANANA DAIQUIRIS

  • 1 Can (6 ounces) frozen limeade concentrate thawed and undiluted
  • 1 Cup light rum
  • 1 Cup water
  • ¼ cup sifted powdered sugar
  • 1 cup sliced bananas
  • Lime slices
  • Maraschino cherries

Combine all ingredients except lime juice and cherries in a large bowl; cover and freeze 8 hours.

To serve place frozen mixture in blender; blend until smooth.

Garnish with lime slices and cherries; serve immediately.
